Cost recovery systems are now available as both device-embedded and console-based software, and work with any manufacturer’s printer, copier and multifunction devices. This eliminates the need for disparate systems for different devices. Standardizing on a single cost recovery platform across offices will also reduce the complexity and costs of deploying a solution firmwide. An example lies in the case study in which K&L Gates LLP faced an environment of multiple cost recovery systems and processes following several mergers. By standardizing on Equitrac Professional®, the firm now supports 3,500 users across 24 offices with a single system, resulting in greater economies of scale, no downtime or disruption of service and a formalized schedule for firmware and software updates. A combined effort from the firm and vendor accomplished this migration to a standard platform in just five weeks, providing the rapid “cut over” necessary to avoid a business disruption.
