Consumers are demanding the integration of their personal devices with their corporate environment. This fact is driven by the average consumer's voracious need for both social and work information to be available anywhere, anytime and via high-speed connections. In this white paper, our knowledgeable authors discuss the various ways to build and manage the expenses of the wired and wireless infrastructures required to support these needs. They also discuss choosing a mobile platform and enterprise applications available for collaboration (which all have roots in the consumer social media space). A common theme prevalent in this white paper is the need to make technology as invisible as possible — it should be easy to use by mirroring the functionality of consumer platforms, and it should always be available. Achieving these goals, while at the same time protecting client and firm data, will be the ongoing challenge. I'd like to extend a special thanks to all the authors and their respective firms and companies for their time and for sharing their wisdom.
