“Content extractors are used to automatically build metadata based on the text in the documents.” lemmatization, which is grammatical normalization to assist with query matching, regardless of grammatical forms found in documents and queries. This advanced capability goes beyond the traditional keyword stemming found in many search engines. FAST SEARCH FOR SHAREPOINT 2010 EMERGES When Microsoft acquired FAST ESP, it indicated the next version would be more integrated with SharePoint and easier to administer. True to its word, FS4SP uses the SharePoint 2010 Central Administration Web pages for basic administration and has Microsoft-supported Web parts for the user interface within SharePoint. In addition to better integration, FS4SP shares many of the search enhancements found in SharePoint Server 2010 52 Portal Platforms ILTA White Paper Search. It also comes with some unique capabilities not found in FAST ESP or SharePoint 2010 search. Although FS4SP shares the same basic architecture as FAST ESP, there was functionality left behind, such as some of the predefined content extractors and document hit highlighting. FAST ESP is still supported, but it has been replaced with several new FAST search versions to support the Microsoft 2010 wave of products. This brings the total number of Microsoft search products to nine, with five that are integrated with SharePoint and four that are stand-alone.
