This is a question being asked by many law firms today, and with the improved Web content management (WCM) capabilities of SharePoint 2010, firms are increasingly recognizing the value of a unified platform to support the intranet, extranet and public website. Many law firms have already invested in SharePoint as the platform of choice for their intranets and extranets. That investment encompasses more than Portal Platforms ILTA White Paper the obvious costs of server licenses and client access licenses. In most cases, a significant investment has also been made in people — developers, system administrators and others who manage enterprise content. Investments have been made to internally market the intranet and to train legal professionals on how to get the most value out of the system. SharePoint has since become the central hub for locating and interacting with information and is now a familiar environment for both attorneys and staff.
