As legal industry business models rapidly change to meet the demands of clients who bring a global perspective to the purchase of legal services, confusion exists regarding two core concepts: knowledge management (KM) and legal project management (LPM). Is one a subset of the other? Are they the same? Do they have any key principles in common? In short, KM is a tool that can improve the practice of law, and LPM is a technique for improving the processes and business outcomes related to the practice of law.
