management.” Additional session topics included “using Silverlight to enhance your intranet” and “connecting FAST and SharePoint Search to enterprise systems.” Last year’s winner of the ILTA SharePoint Innovator of the Year award, Seyfarth Shaw LLP, gave a presentation on what their firm is doing to leverage SharePoint. At the end of the two days, an informal open discussion and wrap-up allowed attendees to share their own stories and topics not covered in the sessions. According to the attendees, the most popular session was the Seyfarth Shaw LLP session, followed by the Baker & Daniels and Thompson Coburn LLP case studies and the SharePoint as a DMS discussion. Everyone also enjoyed the opportunity to network and spend informal time with a few of ILTA’s SharePoint vendors. PLANNING FOR 2012 Plans for ILTA’s 2012 SharePoint for Legal Symposium are underway with proposed dates in mid-June. A planning committee, including members from a few of ILTA’s peer groups, will be developed this fall. The focuses for next year will be to: • Continue providing a one-stop SharePoint education, a broad coverage of SharePoint capabilities and the ever-popular case studies and panel discussions • Add some strategic sessions • Possibly add focused sessions for smaller firms and training/101 sessions • Increase the interaction with ILTA SharePoint vendors and those that provide add-ins We hope to see you there!
