AN INTERVIEW WITH COREY WELLS MCINNES COOPER click on the mic to listen to the entire conversation. McInnes Cooper is the winner of ILTA’s 2010 Distinguished Peer Award for “Project of the Year.” Corey Wells, Communication Services Leader at McInnes, sat down with Kate Cain, Vice President of ILTA’s Professional Services Peer Group, to chat about the success of their unified messaging project. Let’s listen in . . . Kate Cain: Please tell us a bit about McInnes Cooper, including number of offices, locations, employees and anything you care to share about your firm’s culture such as how you cope with change. Corey Wells: I’m proud to say we are one of the 20 largest law firms in Canada, with seven offices, and we employ around 500 employees. We recently celebrated our 150th anniversary. To put that into 20 Project Management ILTA White Paper perspective, the famous White Star Line, which owned the Titanic, was one of our early clients. So you can see, we have quite a history. As for our ability to cope with technology changes, we sometimes find it a bit daunting, as I’m sure most firms do. But we’ve learned that as long as we prepare well upfront and provide our employees a well-planned, structured training program, all in all, they’re pretty good with handling change.
