from the president As President, I have the honor and privilege of keeping you informed about the happenings of the organization, all of which are the result of the strategy and direction that the Board establishes. I'll open my first "letter from the prez" with a word of thanks to members, supporting vendors and ILTA's professional staff. Together, we've created an incredible educational and peer networking environment that has stood the test of time. My first ILTA experience was our annual conference in Boca Raton well over a decade ago. At the time, we had a Telecommunications Peer Group with BYOD not yet a gleam in anyone's eye. Today, that group is the Server Operations and Security Peer Group; and under its banner, our very successful LegalSECTM initiative was birthed. Across the years, our focus has always been the member experience, as we've looked to provide more educational opportunities and expand our reach. 2013 has been a great year. We kicked it off by collaborating on an Asia event, followed it up with our seventh annual SharePoint Symposium and the first of what will be many LegalSEC Summits. As you're reading this, we will have completed another successful annual conference in Las Vegas with a predicted record number of registrants. We'll close the year with our annual INSIGHT event in London in November. Each of these "large" events is complemented by local meetings, webinars and other educational opportunities to meet the needs of our vast, diverse membership. But we don't stand still. During the last quarter of the year, the Board of Directors will be fully engaged in developing our next strategic plan — one that will acknowledge our changing world and ensure our success in the years ahead. I'll close where I began, by thanking you. We could not do any of this without you, our volunteers. We'll get you connected and engaged in activities that provide lasting value.
