Faster than you can boot your iPad, the world of
communications technologies is changing.
It's a daunting task the IT professionals face in their firms in balancing mobility
with security risks, in aligning demands for the latest gadgets with enterprise
policies, in supporting a savvy user base with precious little time to stay ahead
of the curve themselves.
As ever, the ILTA peer network is here to help. This issue's theme naturally
attracts content along the entire technical spectrum, from basic primers or
high-level strategic views to highly technical pieces that will have deep appeal
to those tasked with system implementations and support. I appreciate the
investment of time and expertise that all contributors made, and I specifically
commend ILTA's Communications Technologies Peer Group Steering Committee,
who rose to the occasion with their ownership of this publication project.
In addition to the knowledge-sharing that's happening within these pages,
there's much entertainment value to be derived. From haiku to duck "tales," to a
movie review and crossword puzzle, we've got it all.
ILTA's yearly cycle sees our officer positions change following our annual
conference in August, with many folks terming out of their roles or moving
to different focuses. Check out the new volunteer leaders in our Member
Resources section; and please note the special salute we give to the many
volunteers who are the lifeblood of the association. My deepest thanks to all.
