If there's a bug in a piece of code, we look for the "stack trace" using Copilot or Gemini AI, which tells us what line of code and file to look for and even suggests how to fix the problem. Instead of debugging, the AI helps recreate the step so we can accelerate our view and understand the problem. The answer AI recommends is not always right, but it often comes close and gives us a head-start. Slowing down enough to understand how we can leverage the AI allows the virtual assistant (in our case, MADDI) to be more helpful so future processes can be sped up and valuable benefits come faster. I'd like to delve more deeply into the benefit of Aderant collaborating with Vanderbilt Law faculty and students. Mark, how has the Aderant/Vanderbilt Law collaboration been manifesting so far, and how is that helping students? MARK: Andy spoke with our students about how Aderant works with AI. Now that we have more lab components up and running, we are excited to work with them and others to create tools. That fulfills a big part of our mission to produce technology to close the access to justice gap. Partnering with people to put this technology to work is not about taking market share away from attorneys, it's about tapping into legal work that is not being done at all and serving people who have no access to lawyers otherwise. As an academic institution, we don't have a profit motive so we can pursue collaborations without worrying about our bottom line. This is our passion, and working with technology partners like Aderant is really exciting. ANDY: Yes, it's exciting for us, too. Initially, we spoke at VAILL about what we're doing at Aderant with AI, and we will do that on a larger scale soon. As we work on incorporating AI into different areas of technology for law firm businesses, new opportunities appear for collaboration. For example, we're working on a time narrative AI assistant which will be introduced later this year. Lawyers can use it to help improve their time narratives on bills, Podcast Series from ILTA ILTA Podcasts cover the gamut of legal technology and are curated on an ongoing basis. With over 80,000 episodes downloaded and hundreds of podcasts to choose from, we invite you to log in, sit back, and listen. S U B S C R I B E T O D A Y ! B R O W S E E P I S O D E S
