on Microsoft technologies, notably Teams. And not a single session on
email management! That made me smile!
• Governance is cool. Truly. All kinds of governance. Information
governance, AI governance, and security. There is truly a sense that we
are moving from a governance model of "No" to a governance model of
"how."
• Did I say AI, AI everywhere? How about data, data everywhere? One of
the sessions that created the biggest buzz during the week was the API
session on Monday. That does a technologist's heart good! All kidding
aside, we are thinking about data more strategically than ever, and AI
will help us leverage it in new ways. So let's take the plunge into that
data lake, everyone!
• Finally (and we always save the best for last), technology is still about
people. Sessions on professional development programs, imposter
syndrome, diversity and ESG initiatives, and even a DISC workshop
were available throughout the week. Our most important assets are our
people – and keeping them healthy, motivated, and fulfilled is the duty
and privilege of all leaders!
Of course, you cannot wrap ILTACON without a word about the fun!
Everyone I saw (and that was a BUNCH of people) met me with a smile. Unless
it was an "across the escalator" wave, there was also a hug. That's what makes
our community so special!
So, let's plan to meet again soon! Have a great fourth quarter and holiday
season, and we will regroup in the New Year!
