Impossible to pick, because there are so
many good ones. Would be like picking my
favorite U2 song or Bi-Rite ice cream flavor.

My favourite ILTACON memory is
the first time I had the jaw-dropping
experience of hearing David Hobbie
play the viola at a KM reception. It was
absolutely breath-taking!

There are so many that come to mind after
fifteen years of attending the greatest legal
technolo conference in existence. My
favorite moments were probably during the
years when I co-chaired the conference or
was a member of the planning committee.
The in-person planning events, the
meetings leading up to conference, the
conference itself and the wrap-up meetings
with great colleagues to celebrate a job well
done are all great memories for me.

The single most impactful thing that has
happened to me at ILTACON was hearing
the keynote of Jim Lovell. (as in "Houston,
we have a problem".) As I heard it, as long
as you do not quit you have a chance. If you
quit, you are guaranteed failure or worse.
The crew of Apollo 13 and all the people
helping them on Earth chose did not quit.
"Failure is not an option"....against all
odds they survived and inspired countless
others to figure out a way to make things
work. I reflect upon this daily.

Jim Lovell's keynote. The room was silent
and rapt. True heroism and ingenuity. I
was in major hero worship mode.
