LITIGATION AND PRACTICE SUPPORT 57 WWW.ILTANET.ORG | ILTA WHITE PAPER ILTA's Strategic Relationship with Thomson Reuters How are you incorporating ILTA member feedback into process improvements or product developments? Our engagement with ILTA members has been front and center in the design and development of our eDiscovery Point product. A group of early design partners, which included several ILTA members, helped us build and test the product. Also, at the 2015 ILTACON conference, we shared an early look with many ILTA members and received valuable feedback that helped guide development efforts. ILTA members have also been incredibly helpful participants in our beta programs. Most recently, we gathered feedback during ILTA product briefings and at ILTACON 2016 through our spotlight session and in meetings at our booth and suite. All the feedback we received has been incorporated in our continuous development process. We obsess over removing barriers and making more intuitive what has been traditionally counterintuitive. In order for us to achieve this goal, it is imperative that we connect with the market, and ILTA has been instrumental in facilitating and maintaining that connection. About ILTA's Strategic Relationship Liaisons The appointment of Strategic Relationship Liaisons (SRLs) recognizes the importance of key vendor relationships and addresses that need. In their work with our strategic vendors, SRLs advocate for our members when issues arise with products; they facilitate vendor connections to support educational and product programming; they provide feedback from our members in future product/ service development; and they ensure that ILTA is involved in standard-setting initiatives. The evolution of ediscovery technology –– and the prevalence of its adoption –– will be measured by accessibility and ease of use. The technology in this industry continues to race forward, and we are focused on disrupting the market by enabling adoption and democratization. In circles of ediscovery experts, it is easy to experience an echo chamber effect, but, with our clients, we have seen that legal professionals still need more know-how and expertise to handle the task. Another important insight into the future of ediscovery relates to the managed services model. We conducted a deep market study recently and discovered that both law firms and corporate legal departments are turning to an integrated solution of tech-enabled services. The research shows that lawyers innovate through engaging with managed services, and this will continue. ILTA Ed Sohn VP Product Management and Partnerships, Legal Managed Services, Thomson Reuters
