How many times a week does someone on your team say,
"Why don't we have soware that can…?" What gaps in technology
make your life difficult? What do you wish a vendor would
develop? I asked law firm, corporate and vendor litigation support
experts what they wanted most. Read on for their answers.
Collections
As the data collected diversify into mobile and cloud environments,
we see a need for tools to adapt. Many of the available collection
tools were geared toward single investigations and might not be
useful for large corporate maers.
» Anonymous Law Firm: I'd like simple Office 365 and SharePoint
collection tools that work for smaller clients who don't have top-
tier Office 365 ediscovery tools and dedicated IT staff.
» Andrew Haslam, Squire Paon Boggs (UK): I want the
ability to harvest the increasing spread of data types, from the
Internet of Things to the latest phone messaging app. Once
collected, the technology should be cloud-based, easy to use
and allow data loading/processing on demand.
» Ben Suess, Covington & Burling LLP: I need a utility to open
and inventory multiple PSTs into a meaningfully renamed
structure in Outlook all at once.
» Judson Holt, Xact Data Discovery: I wish a tool allowed users
to easily deduplicate native data, email/aachments included,
by Gillian Glass of Farella Braun + Martel LLP
