case studies of information with respect to collection, preservation, liability, etc. Very helpful." • Tech-Friendly Tools. WODL provides on-demand video, searchable knowledge libraries and digital training media. The Altus-hosted platforms also handle both password-protected access for clients and single-sign-on connections for WSGR employees. WODL also enables WSGR to provide more value to its clients. With WSGR's training team steadily adding new courses each quarter, the client-facing WODL portal now includes over 50 courses. Instead of asking client lawyers to arrange their schedules around our training events or public seminars, we provide MCLE- compliant training that enables them to take training at a time and place that works best for them, at no charge. Hitting the Mark Strong usage data and positive anecdotal feedback indicate that WSGR attorneys, staff and clients highly value WODL. For example, in our most recent fiscal year, over 700 attorneys and staff used WODL to watch over 300 courses for credit, view portions of 1,100 other courses and download over 500 others. In the last quarter of that period — typically the time with the heaviest usage because of the January 31 deadline for California MCLE — 160 clients and other friends of the firm completed over 400 WODL courses and watched portions of more than 1,500 others. Overall, client usage increased more than threefold over the same quarter two years prior. As for anecdotal feedback, several clients have said that WODL was extremely helpful in enabling them to complete MCLE requirements quickly, conveniently and cost-effectively. Clients also praised the quality of the presentations and the timeliness and applicability of the content. For example, one client mentioned that she had used the WODL class on social media as a key input in drafting her company's social media policy. Clients also praised WODL's usability features, including the intuitive interface, the ability to pick up right where they left off if they had to leave a course because of a question or other interruption, and the automatic emailing of course completion certificates. Users also appreciated the ability to drill down quickly to a specific issue by either browsing the detailed topic list or by searching not only the PowerPoint slides but also the entire recorded file down to the spoken word, and then navigating immediately to the desired section. This feature is particularly powerful for delivering just-in-time performance boosts that provide more value to users. Overall, clients appreciated the great value provided by WODL. As one client said, "The fact that this is available at all is simply astounding." Here are some other client quotes: • "[WODL] was convenient, fast and wonderfully entertaining. The variety of courses made it easy to find relevant material, and the presenters kept me engaged throughout. Thanks to WSGR for providing such a stellar service to your clients." • "This is really an awesome resource you've made available to your clients. I've enjoyed the programs, and it is a very convenient way to get MCLE done." • "Simply said, a job very well done. I love the fact that it is archived so that a client can listen when it is convenient. I love the fact that the slides can be downloaded so notes can be applied easily and timely. Finally, I love the fact that WSGR has such a practical approach to assisting clients. In my 30 years of practice, I have attended seminars and listened to webinars where the law firm representatives will identify a problem and then either explicitly or implicitly suggest that if I was to retain the firm, they would help walk me through the problem. Your firm takes the contra approach where you identify the problem(s) and then give concrete, clear direction of your recommendations to deal with the problem(s). This is a much more effective approach and one for which you are to be commended. I have already forwarded the course link to my colleagues and recommended that our entire Compensation Committee listen to the presentation." WODL enables us to transform just-in-case training to just- in-time training, improving attorney, staff and client performance and furthering our commitment to giving our clients exceptional legal service. On-demand services are sure to remain a part of our practices long into the future.
