Post-findings, we are already seeing more responsive Web design that addresses design and brand consistency across different devices. Analytics prove that mobile visitors are growing exponentially. Two years ago, the average was three to five percent of visitors. Now, mobile visits range from 11 to 25 percent. • Does the firm have a true mobile site? – 34.5 Only two firms scored Excellent, and — of those firms that had a mobile site — a large majority of firms scored Fair. INTERACTIVITY MOBILITY THE FOUNDATION TO REBUILD These best practices are foundational, meaning they are must-have features and functionality. Using them as your roadmap for your next website redesign will ensure your visitors engage more with your offerings and quickly find what they want. Only then can your site transform from an online brochure to a robust, hard-working business development asset. • The site links to social media sites and has an active and current presence on these sites – 51 • Share functionality is present throughout the site – 34 In 2013, firms improved on the 2010 average score of 39.5, but they are still only scoring 52 on this foundational best practice. One of the most striking deficiencies was found in the use of "share" functionality. The Am Law 100 websites scored 34, and implementing a "share" feature is free and easy to do. For linking to firm social media sites, the average score was 51. This is another missed opportunity to syndicate content and drive traffic to and from your website. This was a particularly low-scoring foundational best practice, which means there is much opportunity for improvement. Three firms scored 100.
