CONNECTING LITIGATION SUPPORT TO THE LITIGATION PROCESS • Preparing collection, processing and review estimates • Identifying available resources (internal and external) • Monitoring workflow and deadlines • Providing communication and status reports PRODUCING DOCUMENTS The best way to produce documents in any case will depend on a lot of variables: In what format will the documents be produced? What is the size of the collection? What technology tools are required and available? What is the production schedule? How many parties are involved? Depending on the case, law firm staff will handle productions internally or a firm might use a service provider to handle production. In all cases, the LSP will be involved to ensure that production meets the required specifications. Below are some of the responsibilities with which LSPs are able to assist: • Preparing documents for production • Coordinating with outside service providers • Creating the production and quality control deliverables • Preparing media and labeling instructions • Updating the production log and status reports PREPARING MATERIALS FOR THE LITIGATION TEAM It is critical for every attorney working on a case to always have relevant information and documents at their fingertips. They don’t have the luxury of time and they want (and need) information immediately. Some of the tasks LSPs perform in preparing items for the litigation teams include: • Ensuring applications are easily accessible • Providing laptops for checkout with application suite installed • Ensuring replications done offsite are preserved and uploaded • Providing secure access for clients, experts and co-counsel • Providing training and instructions TRIAL GRAPHICS AND SUPPORT Trial graphics is an area that has always been considered highly specialized.
