40 Rebecca: In a year, I hope that people will be getting value from the skills matrix. DEIC: For anyone reading this article, what kind of things does your committee need help with right now? Rebecca: We definitely need people we can interview for our podcast. We've been trying to get this podcast off the ground for a while, and we want to have enough people lined up to interview so we can release podcasts on a regular cadence. Michele: We want to bring people together, especially women, who are deep in the security space. We want to talk with people who are prominent in security who have worked their way up to senior positions like CISO, as well as other positions, so we can show other women, "hey, you can get there. Look at me, I'm here, I'm doing this." DEIC: How can other people get involved? Michele: We have a simple form for people to get involved with WIS. We welcome anyone who wants to contribute to any of our multiple initiatives. For example, you can use the form to say, "I'm happy to answer your skills matrix questions," "I'm happy to participate in a podcast," "I'd like to volunteer on the committee," and more. The form is designed to accommodate various options for anyone interested. Rebecca: There's also our group email—they can contact us at WISgroup@iltanet.org to get involved or to get help from the committee. DEIC: Is there anything else you'd like people to know about the committee? Michele: We've talked more and more about "how do we continue to feed people into the security pipeline?" We aim to ensure that young people, particularly women, are aware of the opportunities for cybersecurity roles in the legal industry. One of our other goals is to collaborate with universities, high schools, and even grammar schools to help people recognize the opportunities available and to begin setting their sights on these careers now, so that they can develop their educational path towards achieving their goal. One of our committee members, Melanie Prevost, is working to establish connections with schools in Texas. We hope to utilize these connections as a foundation and replicate them for other schools in their respective areas. Each of us is so passionate about this. We're always looking for ways to connect more dots and build the program in creative ways. And ILTA's a safe space to do it—we find an opportunity, and ILTA gives us the ability to say, "That's something that's needed. Let's make it happen."
