n 2019, ILTA's Board of Directors initiated a DEI strategy by forming a DEI
Task Force. The task force's was targeted to promote diversity, equity, and
inclusion within the ILTA community. As work progressed, ILTA recognized that the
DEI effort within the organization was not a short-term endeavor. Because of this,
the Board approved transitioning the task force to committee. One of the key efforts

the DEI committee is responsible for is conducting the Climate Survey to understand
the perceptions and experiences of staff, volunteers, and members regarding DEI at
ILTA. The first climate survey was published in 2021, and this survey is the second.
The goal of the survey is to assess the current DEI climate within the organization and
membership as well as compare the results with the first survey.
