ILTA'S 2024 DE+I CLIMATE SURVEY REPORT ILTANET.ORG/DEI 5 Core Value: Respond with agility to our rapidly changing environment The opportunities to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our community are boundless. Diversity enhances innovation, problem-solving, and competitiveness within all industries, including legal technology. "We believe inclusion and diversity unleashes innovation and creates a culture where everyone feels they have equal opportunity." - Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture (Ethnic Diversity in the Workplace | Accenture) . Core Value: Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the ILTA community Boasting a community of over 23,000 members spread across more than 50 countries around the world, DEI is at the nucleus of ILTA's mission as a "peer powered" organization. By building on the foundation established in 2020 and incorporating the feedback from this year's survey, ILTA is committed to advancing DEI initiatives and creating a community where every member feels valued and included. Core Value: Nurture skills and talents to promote professional development and success We are encouraged that respondents appreciate the work ILTA has done regarding DEI in the preceding years, but members want more. The survey reflects a need for ongoing efforts to increase diverse representation across all channels of engagement. "Senior volunteering roles appear disproportionately white, and male given the diverse make-up of the ILTA community, as witnessed at ILTACON etc. It would be good to have some targeted research into why, for example, minority groups do not appear to put themselves forward for board service." This fuels the continued efforts of the DEIC to seek and address ways to further inclusivity in our organization with the hope that (DEI) initiatives will one day no longer be necessary because acceptance and respect for all individuals will be deeply ingrained in our organizational cultures. This hope is rooted in the belief that we can evolve to a point where every person is valued for their unique contributions, regardless of their background, identity, or experiences. "When we listen and celebrate what is common and different, we become a wiser, more inclusive, and better organization." - Pat Wadors, Chief Human Resources Officer, Intuitive (How LinkedIn's HR Chief is Changing the Diversity Conversation with "Belonging", 2017 Article)
