Nominee / I N N O V A T I V E L E A D E R O F T H E Y E A R T he release of ndMAX was a significant milestone at NetDocuments driven by their Chief Product Officer, Dan Hauck. Dan and a talented team of product managers, marketers, engineers, and customer success managers noticed that many AI applications were "thin wrappers" around GPT4 that provided little added value. Dan and the NetDocuments team grew determined to create a differentiated, transparent application that empowers c u s to m e r s to c o n t ro l A I p ro m p t s d i re c t l y, u s e G e n A I confidently, and deploy the technology responsibly. That goal inspired the concept of combining our no-code automation platform PatternBuilder with Gen AI models. D a n a n d h i s te a m w o r ke d w i t h M i c ro s of t a n d ex i s t i n g NetDocument customers to create the solution now known as PatternBuilder MAX. PatternBuilder MAX quickly became the most popular product that NetDocuments has ever launched. Using PatternBuilder MAX, Dan worked with the legal and sales operation teams to build a custom, AI-powered app to ingest a contract and extract a range of critical data points, including party name, contract value by product, execution date, storage Dan Hauck Chief Product Officer NetDocuments LINKEDIN / danhauck allowance, and more. The app calculates future values like renewal date and price increases and identifies unique values like "first billing commencement date." Dan worked with the partner team to develop a PatternBuilder MAX app capable of managing a new renewal process for NetDocument's ISV partners. This app automatically calculates partnership level based upon various partner- and platform-related inputs, allows the partner to review and sign the contract, and then outputs the fully executed renewal. As a trusted industry thought leader, Dan frequently volunteers time to engage with legal professionals. He is happy to discuss challenges with other legal tech entrepreneurs and offer experiential advice. Dan describes his experiences with ILTA's community as rewarding with a lasting impact.
