21 I L T A N E T . O R G Project+) and scheduled a time to take the exam. I enrolled in the ACEDS eDiscovery Executive certificate program. Within four months after ILTACON, I had completed two quick wins that I could be proud of. A month later, in January 2019, I started as a Litigation Technology Analyst working for Julie Brown. A couple of months later, I began two data science certificate programs. Those vocational shifts opened new opportunities. Soon, I was working full-time as a data analyst and stepped into a new role created for my work as a Data Analytics Project Manager in 2020. Also, in 2019, I started volunteering with ILTA as a Distinguished Peer Awards judge and on the Ohio Litigation Support Statewide Event Planning Team. I joined the newly formed Participant Applicant Review Committee with ILTA and continued to serve as a Distinguished Peer Awards judge each year. In 2020, I began serving as a session coordinator for ILTACON 2021… just two years after I had said I could never do it. By pursuing opportunities as a volunteer and within our firm from a growth mindset, my confidence, professional abilities, and connections within the legal tech community continued to grow. I have completed multiple certificate programs and now manage a team of three highly talented people in our Practice Technology group. I just finished my first year as Team Coordinator at ILTACON, which helped me grow as a leader. I have a strong network of peers and business partners to lean on for education and discuss new initiatives. ILTACON has served as a catalyst for professional growth multiple times in ways that changed my career trajectory. Most importantly, the growth mindset sparked by attending my first ILTACON has carried over to and had a positive impact on other areas of my life. Through my involvement in ILTA and through the many opportunities I've taken at Vorys, I've learned that if you put yourself in situations that make you uncomfortable and start pursuing things that are just beyond your current abilities and then fulfill the commitments you've made to yourself and others, you will gain confidence and skills that will enable you to be successful in future endeavors. That cycle will continue, and you will feel less comfortable where you are. If you're in a rut like I was or find yourself making excuses or placing blame on others for your lack of growth, shifting to the type of growth mindset encouraged and embraced by the ILTA community will help you find opportunities to stretch yourself. You'd be surprised to find out where continuous incremental change can take you over long periods of time. I'm grateful that ILTA provides many opportunities for peer-powered growth and education. None of those opportunities would be possible without the support of a Director and Chief who promoted that growth mindset. I look forward to seeing what opportunities unfold through future ILTACON involvement and hope to meet you at ILTACON 2025! ILTA ILTACON 2024 Josh Wulf is a Practice Technology Analytics Manager at Vorys Sater Seymour & Pease, LLP. He is going into his second year as a Team Coordinator for ILTACON.
