Also, about a quarter of respondents are planning additional cloud-centric projects in support of hybrid and remote work, a combination of moving to SaaS- based applications, cloud-managed computing, and hosted VoIP solutions. Another noteworthy cloud reality is the enormous growth in adoption of Microsoft 365 over the past year, with even more planned for 2024. Nearly three quarters of respondents have already adopted some aspect of M365, and nearly 90% expect to be using M365 by this time next year. Hybrid strategies abound As firms find their way back to the office, some via mandatory in-office mandates, and others with hybrid recommended "best practices", technology purchases are reflecting the new reality of remote and mobile options. Laptop use among lawyers and professional staff is up 14 and 21 percent respectively, and among video conference software, both Teams and Zoom are clear market leaders with 78%+ usage among respondents. In terms of Unified Communications Software and the integration of multiple enterprise communication tools -- such as voice calling, video conferencing, instant messaging. Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Cisco are the leaders in this space with Zoom having shown the biggest growth since 2021 (+21%). Speaking of Teams, Online Meetings, Chat and Collaboration, and Audio Conferencing were the top 3 uses of Teams in the 2023 survey. Survey results also suggest "figuring out" hybrid work is still "in progress" including a grab bag of tech options and processes.
