3 I L T A N E T . O R G F R O M T H E E D I T O R Coming back into the office, or home office, after ILTACON always seems so quiet. The cacophony of sounds and the din of engaged ILTACON attendees and expo floor conversations have receded; all the months and months of lead-up work is suddenly… so quickly over. And all is quiet. So here we are, one more time, back with another engaging and loud issue of Peer to Peer. This issue, like the many that have come before it, was built up pre-ILTACON,, gathered onsite, and then amassed after, with the resulting dozens of articles, white papers, columns, and features, lovingly assembled. If broken down into sections, this issue of P2P may be the most crowd-pleasing… there are over 60 pieces of issue-based content: ILTACON TV features, numbering more than 30, half a dozen white papers articles, a dozen plus articles and features, a record number of columns, many from new columnists, eager to make their mark with ILTA and within the legal community. We have recaps, authored by long-time ILTAns and Press, along with ILTA professional staffers. This issue is a testament to all good ILTA work and shines a hopeful light on more fantastic ILLTA content to come, from both the conference, education, member, and partner sides. We are all SMEs. For this editor, this Fall issue brings together, and ends, right where it began: with an issue of Peer to Peer, an idea for the inaugural episode of the all-new (then) Hopscast, and an idea that innovation means legal technology. This issue, Data, Data Everywhere: Tools and Tips for Your Tech Journey, looks at how Data is truly everywhere: It is Everything. And no, generative AI didn't write this letter, but it could have. What I imagined 2023 tech to look like in 2019 couldn't have fathomed this. I did not dream of electric sheep… this is a far cooler time in tech, a time in ILTA, and it is the time to innovate. This Fall season will see the 2023 Technology Survey's full issue publication, along with KM White Papers, a newly updated Litigation and Practice Management Survey and White Papers, and much more. The 2019 me would be proud of the 2023 me; I hope we have added value to your #legaltechjourney As you page through this issue, as you watch the ILTACON TV interviews, and as you listen to the final Hopscast and new episodes of ILTA Radio, take with you the idea that you are the SME. You will help ILTA enter the gen AI phase, you will help guide and become our volunteers, you will be the Brave New World of innovation that allows legal technologists the chance to gather, every August, at learn, together. I thank you for this Fall issue and for being a part of our ILTA Publications and Surveys. And, for #onemoretime, enjoy the read.
