Chris Hunt talked about his budgeting process, using the Tech survey to underscore many of his budget and strategy components. We shared a preview of the themes from the Survey: • Server OS currently installing (Windows Server 2019 – 82%) • Laptop choice – Dell laptops (36% of all firms) • Servers moving to the cloud • Installation of Zoom Rooms (moving from 28% to 37%) • Use of Microsoft 365 Business – all Office versions (63% and rising fast) • Use of both public and private teams (30% across firm sizes) • DMS in the cloud (46% and rising) • Use of Olympus or Phillips devices for dictation • End-Point protection solutions • Firm provided personal password management applications • "Client security requirements/audits" second highest security challenge • Have cloud-based email security • "Offline" backup configurations (protect from ransomware and hackers) • Agree Phishing exercise failures are "Education issue", not HR issue We had an interactive discussion with the session attendees about two strategic themes dealt with in the survey results: • MS Teams – the Perfect Storm • Hybrid Work – after the Storm We closed out the session with a chart from the survey results, the 2022 Technology Trends.
