As I write this, I am over a month into my fifth year as a member of the ILTA staff. Where did that time go? To say that a lot has changed during that time would be a drastic understatement! We entered 2022 with uncertainty but also with optimism – albeit tinged with more than a touch of caution. And 2022 turned out to be a year full of returns and full of firsts – and, most of all, full of peers helping peers! What are some of the things I'm proudest of from 2022??? Let's start with the ILTA staff! This amazing, talented, passionate group of professionals delivered and delivered and delivered, despite significant pressure and uncertainty (there's that nasty word again). Our budget for 2023 is going to allow us some people growth to relieve some of that pressure. Be of the lookout for some new faces on the staff in early 2023! Our new events were spectacular! Our two-day Mastering Teams program was so successful that we delivered an encore later in the year. Sneak peek … we will be delivering it in a European friendly time zone in 2023 (and perhaps an Oz-friendly one, as well!). Why was this new? We've done product-focused "mini-events" in the past (anyone remember SharePoint Symposium). The difference here was the depth of coverage, the "story-telling" format of the sessions, the accompanying surveys, and a single facilitator (or pair of facilitators – thanks to Kenny Leckie and Jeffrey Roach) to tie the two days together. This program also featured what I believe to be an unprecedented level of cooperation among members and business partners to provide excellent, actionable content! And did I mention it was virtual? By the way, this event was about Connections, as well as Content! A group of attendees from across organizations still meet monthly to continue the "down and dirty" conversation about Teams! While we're talking about virtual, how about year two of our incomparable Women Who Lead virtual Road Show series? Volunteers Melanie Prevost and Kelley Kage – ably supported by the entire Women Who Lead Committee and the ILTA staff – developed a three-stop Road Show that was inspiring, thought- provoking, and just a heck of a lot of fun! But they did something in person, too! At ILTACON, Women Who Lead hosted a spy (and the International Spy Museum) for a packed session. That session was followed by a give back activity where attendees assembled coding kits for DC local charity Rosie Riveters. (Look for them at https://www.rosieriveters.com). How ILTA-ish is that??? Content, Connections, and Give Back! Joy Heath Rush joy@iltanet.org T H E R E ' S M O R E O N L I N E !
