What do you view as the top 3 most valued certifications for you or your team? It's always interesting to observe the evolving trends in legal technology education and training and the topics that ILTAns are interested in. This year saw movement in the programming topics in which individuals are interested. In 2020, the number one topic of interest was e-discovery project management (28%). In 2021, survey respondents expressed a more varied interest in topics. The number one topic of choice in 2021 was best practices involving collection of data from mobile devices, collaboration tools, and websites (19%). There was also Interest in emerging technologies & processes (11%). E-discovery project management took the second third spot (8%), and several other topics like mobile collection best practice (8%), and document review best practices (8%) rounded out the top five topics of interest in programming. In terms of training formats, for the second year in a row, webinars (23%) are the number one-ranked training modality for litigation support professionals, followed by conferences (21%), and in-person training (19%). The top three training topics consistently offered by responding organizations in 2021 were e-discovery so ware (45%), analytics tools & processes (22%), and collection processes (10%) and e-discovery best practices (10%) tied for third. Last, year the top three were: e-discovery best practices (82%), so ware specific training (69%), and the discovery process itself (47%). Certification in e-discovery and the various so ware solutions on the market has seen increased interest by e-discovery professionals.
