59 I L T A N E T . O R G connections with Practice Groups & Admin Depts". We looked at firms with formal Business Relationship Manager (BRM) roles and those with Business Analyst roles that are somewhat similar. We talked about "Everyday Business Relationship Management". My mantra is "everyone is a business relationship manager." We showed how successful communication can help build bridges, through showing integrity, taking ownership, having a sense of urgency, lots of listening, accepting the challenge and continuously improving. We shared Pros, Cons and Tips for Success of Technology Committees. Lastly Isi shared his experiences of building relationships with lawyers leading to real innovation in his firm. The audience added many ideas of their own. The session was audio recorded, so it's available for those who didn't attend in person. Hybrid/Digital – I think we've all figured out this is here to stay, even with in-person ILTACON, there are too many reasons to continue with at least partial Hybrid/Digital participation. The platform ILTA used – Boomset, had many redeeming qualities and for the most part, did its job. It must have been a different feeling for digital participants this year over last year's ILTA>ON, where we were all digital. I would personally have felt like I was missing out on the in-person experience, knowing there was one available and I just wasn't there. But joining digitally was WAY better than not participating at all, which was the only other option for most. I've talked with a number of Digital Only ILTACON participants since coming home. Most said the sessions were really good but it was hard to participate in all of them while trying to continue their day jobs. Many participated live in some sessions and then listened to the recordings for others. The only part of the in-person conference that I participated in digitally, was a session where all the speakers were not able to be in-person. It was a strange sensation but it worked. One other note on the hybrid conference. The ability to select speakers who would never be able to participate in person, allows for some really interesting input from inside and outside the legal industry. This is a luxury we never had before as the focus was always on having the speakers live onsite. That's still preferable but for those special speakers, this is definitely a good option. So, what about ILTACON 2022? This is the last and vital question. Every year since its inception, the ILTACON co-chairs for "Next Year" sit down in September & October to imagine, re-invent, evolve, improve and generally ideate about the next year's conference. Most often the first thought is "How can we improve???" Martha Breil continues for a second year, now the senior co-chair for ILTCON 2022. She is joined by Scott David, Director of Legal Project Management and Process Improvement at Vorys. They have probably already started with their list of things to work on for the educational program for 2022. I think number one on their list will be flexibility, as it has been for 2020 and for 2021 planning. There are so few certainties, they have to be ready for anything. There's another change the Co-chairs and committee will work through – Gaynor Senyszyn, Education Director at ILTA, in whose hands the education program has rested for the past few years, is leaving ILTA for a new adventure. She will I'm sure be sorely missed. I'm equally sure ILTA staff will adapt and support the ILTACON 2022 education program development to help it be the best ever!! My advice to staff and volunteers alike is the same as it is every year since ILTACON time immemorial. Stick to what matters to ILTA members and business partners – amazing education content developed and delivered by the ILTAverse to the ILTAverse. The education draws the ILTA members in, the networking and connections with business partners keep them coming back. Every year, I come back from ILTACON saying it was the best ever, and this year was no exception because this was the best ILTACON that could have been in the circumstances. I am grateful to everyone who made ILTACON 2021 possible and that's a lot of unsung heroes. ILTA
