This was the largest batch of applicants since the program launched in June of 2020. Applications for Industry Participant status are open to any individual (not operating in a sales capacity) who is a consultant, expert, or specialist in legal technology. Once an individual becomes an ILTA Industry Participant, they gain access to ILTA member benefits and community resources. View further details around the Requirements & Privileges here. General Membership Update Throughout 2021, legal technologists are sharing how they use our various resources, opportunities, and benefits. We're halfway through the calendar year which means another area of ILTA Unlocked has been opened! Within the first quarter of 2021, we focused on the varying peer-powered benefits ILTA offers you. Quarter two focuses on opportunities available to ILTAns to grow their leadership skills. Each month, specific ILTA benefits are highlighted through the eyes of members, business partners, and participants. Status Update: ILTA's Volunteer Structure The Volunteer Leadership Task Force (VLTF) is back with another update on ILTA's Volunteer Structure Initiative! What is the ILTA Volunteer Structure Initiative*? The ILTA Board of Directors adopted a new Strategic Plan to guide the ILTA'S actions from 2021 to 2023, which introduced the concept of myILTA. To advance the myILTA goal, the Board asked the Volunteer Leadership Task Force (VLTF) to investigate, evaluate and, if needed, reimagine a volunteer structure that best supports myILTA. *The original project deadline was May 2021. In April 2021, the ILTA Board extended this to August 2021 to provide the VLTF with additional time to thoroughly review the structure and provide detailed recommendations. To inform their recommendations to the Board, the VLTF are currently engaging with several groups and utilizing the following resources: • Feedback from 2020 ASCEND, membership surveys, and staff - which include younger, international, and corporate perspectives. • Responses gathered to formulate the Strategic Plan by ILTA consultants from volunteers, members, business partners. • Research and information collected from sister organizations, other non-profits, and volunteer websites as it relates to organizational structures, opportunities, and volunteer roles, terms, and nomenclature. • Ongoing and focused discussions with new and long-time members, volunteers, business partners, and staff to gain different perspectives on their roles, concerns, and suggested improvements.
