9 I L T A N E T . O R G Preparing for an Abnormal Recovery Strategic and tactical programming on adapting your organization's technology to withstand an uncertain road to recovery. Changes to the Attorney-Client Relationship What will clients expect differently from their law firms? What will law firms request of their clients? Consider immediate and longer-term effects of the COVID-19 disruption on technology that directly affects the attorney-client interaction. Corporate Legal Operations How do you navigate the new business realities your organization faces? How will it change the tools you use to support them? How will it change your interactions with technology peers at the law firms you retain? The COVID-19 Court and Regulatory Agency Reality What changes are the courts and regulatory agencies making? How do you respond to those changes so you can effectively serve your clients and business units? Could these changes decrease your organization's efficiency? How to Shine Virtually Professional development for members: How do you show value when working remotely? How do you identify a "remote" career path? How do you conduct virtual interviews, evaluations, and annual reviews? How can your experience defining your organization's future enable you to be resilient in an uncertain economic environment? The PPC and ILTA staff also recognized that you may not have as much time as before the pandemic to consume content. We therefore shifted the content mix to focus on roundtables rather than webinars and lecture-style materials. We are developing more "bite-sized" content, including shorter articles, briefer podcasts, and one-page takeways you can distribute within your organization. Your local member liaisons are delivering short, targeted virtual roundtables that focus on local and regional challenges. ILTA's business partners have listened and are modeling content around the initiative. And to broaden the opportunities for peer sharing, ILTA created a new community: #CreatingTheFutureTogether. This community provides you with a forum to learn what your peers are doing, to share your experiences, and to crowdsource programming ideas. It is the community from which we select the topic for the biweekly "There Are No Experts - #CreatingTheFutureTogether" virtual roundtable. Each of the 3 roundtables hosted has equipped nearly 400 attendees to move forward with optimism. We cannot do this without your input. So continue to look for opportunities to create content in these newer, shorter formats. Review the communities to learn what your peers are saying. Check the calendar for virtual local meetings. And most important, actively participate to create this new future with your fellow ILTA members. ILTA Paul C.
