49 I L T A N E T . O R G doorsteps. This is why we continue to look for ways that you can continue to remain involved in a way that best suits your schedule and interests. Throughout 2020 you'll see more ILTA Volunteer roles offered as Micro Volunteering Opportunities (MVOs), which will identify specifically the skills, time commitments, and impact the MVOs will have on not just the legal community but your career prospects. The first ILTA MVO launched at the beginning of Quarter 2 and the response ILTA received was far beyond what could have been expected. The first MVO focused on editing as it specifically related to the ILTA Technology Survey. The response rate to this MVO was so much that ILTA doubled the number of volunteers to meet the community's sincere desire to play a meaningful role in something that impacts the legal industry on a global scale. We thank the many volunteers that served in the first ILTA MVO role and encourage both you and those applicants not chosen this time around to continue to keep an eye out for more MVOs coming soon! Contact membership@iltanet.org Participant Status Opportunities Last but certainly not least, we are excited to announce the roll out of the ILTA Industry Participant Status and the expansion of the ILTA Associate Participant Status. In early 2019, ILTA brought together nine legal technologists across law firms, corporate legal, business partner entities, and ILTA staff leadership to form the ILTA Membership Task Force (MTF) which focused on ILTA Industry Participant roll out and ILTA Associate Participant expansion. In late 2019, the ILTA MTF put together recommendations for the ILTA Board of Directors that were based on the analysis of countless interviews of those across the legal landscape. At the close of 2019, the Board of Directors approved the MTF's recommendations. Today, ILTA is pleased to announce that thought leaders and legal technologists that are not yet a member of the organization may consider becoming further involved with ILTA through applying for Industry Participant Status; and those who are now retired from the field may apply for Associate Participant Status. Industry Participants will have many of the same benefits as ILTA members (with some exceptions and limitations) and will be open to legal technologists practicing not just in law firms and corporate legal departments, but all those practicing across the legal spectrum (including those serving as consultants, and those employed by Alternative Legal Service Providers and more-traditional Business Partner entities). Associate Participants will also have many of the same benefits as ILTA members (with some exceptions) and will be open to unemployed legal technologists or individuals retired from a legal technology role.
