t's the time of year when we usually look back and
reflect on the past year and make our resolutions
for the new year. Things that went well and the
things that weren't so great and we hope to do better in
the new year. Consider making your 2020 resolution to
take advantage of all the online benefits available to you.
With this issue of Peer to Peer, the theme of
"Challenges that Innovation and Evolution Bring [and
must now be implemented]" it seemed appropriate that
I should go over some of our winning online benefits …
and also look at some areas we want to improve upon
next year.
Conference Events
Our conference committees have once again put on a very
successful LegalSEC Summit and ILTACON Conference.
Our conference in the UK (formerly known as INSIGHT)
was rebranded as ILTACON Europe and expanded to
two days. As in the past, we've recorded the sessions and
posted them to our Recordings library for those unable
to attend or who just want to listen again to the sessions.
You simply need to create your own login and access
them on our website or from our mobile app.
New this year - we piloted 3 trilo events.
Innovation, Young Professionals and Women Who
Lead. They were presented first in the spring in New
York, then in the fall in Toronto. Also organized this
year was an Innovation event in Phoenix as well as an
Innovation event in Brazil.
We brought back our Leadership Event but in
a new hybrid format - in person as well as streaming
virtually. Both types of attendees could take advantage
of a 360-degree leadership review. Online surveys
were sent out to direct reports (current and past),
supervisors, peers and others who have observed the
participants' leadership skills. The feedback was then
condensed into a report with actionable steps with
30/60/90/180 day follow ups.
Positive reviews were given for all of the new
events, but due to the nature of the events - being more
of interactive workshops - there were no recordings to
post which might be a disappointment to those of us
who couldn't attend. We will always evaluate how to
continue to improve upon our offerings. If you see these
events being offered in 2020 it would be well worth
your attendance in person.
