Power BI
The real power comes when you combine the data from Azure with other data sources in your
environment (i.e., Configuration Manager, Exchange, and Office Telemetry) and then visualize the
results. We are using Power BI to produce visualizations; however, other visualization tools, like Tableau,
should work just as well.
We have iManage FileSite installed on about half of our workstations. Does Outlook crash more often
with FileSite installed? When we use Power BI to link our Office add-on data (which we get from Office
Telemetry) to our Azure Device Health data, we can get that answer.
We see a decent increase in the Outlook crash rate when iManage FileSite is installed. Even without
FileSite, Outlook is still crashing at a higher rate than the rest of the world (the commercial average).
Making It Happen
There is a learning curve to getting all this set up. If you are new to Azure and/or new to data visualization,
this can all seem intimidating. Getting an idea of exactly how much this will cost is also challenging.
We found that Microsoft was highly motivated to help us use the Azure Cloud; we were on the phone
frequently with Microsoft engineers as we got the various pieces in place.
There is an abundance of free training available for Power BI. Following is a good place to start:

This article focused on Outlook; however, you can use the same tools to better understand other
applications and Windows 10 OS issues. ILTA
