The advantage of Office Store add-ins is that they can be used on any device with Office 365 (PC, Mac, iPad and Word online); there's no installation, you just add them from the store; and they update automatically. The downside is that Office Store add-ins are new. Some products could be missing features. In addition, Office Store add-ins typically check documents over a server.
