50 PEER TO PEER: THE QUARTERLY MAGAZINE OF ILTA | WINTER 2016 Harmonic Tones Create Symphonic Messages Great writing is much more than good word choice, proper grammar and punctuation; it's greater than the sum of your target audience, your purpose and your format; it becomes extraordinary when your prose conveys a tone that is harmonic for the reader and communicates your intended message elegantly. Your signature style is the "voice" of your wrien message. It's the blended elements of vocabulary, rhythm and flow that allow a reader to get a sense of who you are. Your writing should have a "tone" appropriate for the communication you are delivering. The tone is the aitude your writing conveys; it affects how readers perceive what you write. Your tone is showing; let's show it in the best light.
