Spotlight on Strategic Relationships Steve Odum, Chief Financial Officer at Bricker & Eckler LLP and ILTA's Strategic Relationship Liaison for Aderant, chats with Chris Giglio, Aderant CEO, to learn more about our strategic relationship and about Aderant's strategy for the legal profession. There have been changes in ownership and management at Aderant. How have these changes benefited ILTA members? Aderant was recently purchased by Roper Technologies, a publicly traded company with a diversified technology portfolio. Through this acquisition, Roper has made the largest investment ever in legal technology –– a real testament to where this profession is headed. For ILTA members, this means Aderant is debt- free and able to take a long-view approach in the way we create and invest in our products. In addition, Aderant has made some changes in leadership that position us for continued success. We promoted two 25-year veterans of Aderant to executive positions –– Manny Kyrinis as Vice President of Product Management and William Davis as Vice President of Development. Both Manny and William have been vital members of the Aderant product team with exceptional knowledge of our product set and the changing needs of legal. The Roper acquisition and the promotion of Manny and William are not only in the best interest of Aderant but also in the best interest of ILTA members. We're positioning ourselves for long-term success, and we're confident that success will be reflected in our client's boom lines for years to come. What are some of the new tools/upgrades being worked on or released by Aderant that would benefit ILTA members? This is an exciting time for Aderant in terms of our product offerings. We released our next-generation business intelligence suite, Spotlight Analytics, at the end of last year, and we're thrilled about its reception. Spotlight is an end-to-end business intelligence suite that meets the needs of partners, timekeepers and financial analysts. Later this year, Aderant will release a complete overhaul of our billing application that will dramatically affect law firm billing departments. With a new framework for billing rules and guidelines and with new tools for work in progress (WIP) and accounts receivable (AR) –– DocuDra and Paperless Billing, respectively –– Expert Billing will streamline e-billing, efficiently manage alternative fee arrangements, shorten WIP to cash and increase realization. This is one of our most exciting releases in years; this will revolutionize the way law firms handle billing. Tell us about Aderant's view of its relationship with ILTA: We view ILTA as one of our strongest and most valued partners. ILTA fosters a conversation around legal technology that we're grateful to be a part of, as that conversation improves our understanding of ILTA members' needs and allows us to create solutions that fully enable ILTA members to tackle the challenges of the legal market.
