83 WWW.ILTANET.ORG Ripping Off the Band-Aid: Tips and Tricks for a Quick Office 365 Migration LESSONS LEARNED You cannot edit existing email profiles on mobile devices, so you have to delete and then re-add them with 365 seings » Create step-by-step instructions for iPhones and BlackBerry 10 or later » Have people reboot mobile devices before incorporating 365 seings to ensure a smooth process » There's no good way to do this for Android because of the multitude of devices and seings Don't forget about your internal email needs » Copitrak, scanning, voicemail, Mimecast connectors and the like need to be changed to Office 365 seings Conversation view is enabled by default in OWA, which startles some users The final cutover to the cloud will involve email downtime for up to a few hours, so plan to have your final steps down pat You must change the immutable ID as the last step Quick and Easy Our experience migrating to Office 365 has been overwhelmingly positive. The changes were quick because the system is cloud-based. And there are new things to learn and new ways to accomplish tasks you've done the same way for years, but that's a small (and temporary) price to pay for having a highly secure, redundant and easy-to-manage email system without the overhead, costs and complexity of maintaining it. P2P ILTA Steps Up Down Under More than 280 legal professionals from over 100 organizations attended the inaugural Legal Innovation & Tech Fest — in association with ACC Australia and in collaboration with ILTA. The conference was held in Melbourne, Australia in May. Here's what some of ILTA's members had to say about the event: "The Legal Innovation & Tech Fest was really well-attended by a cross- section of attendees from law firm IT management, in-house counsel and lawyers and partners. The session presenters and content provided a varied range of interesting topics and insights. It was great to have support and representatives from ILTA onsite, and everyone I spoke with said they got great value from the event and would be keen to support future events." – Berys Amor, Corrs Chambers Westgarth "The Legal Innovation & Tech Fest was the first legal innovation event of its kind in Australia. The program content was informative and attendees were highly engaged with the loads of insights being provided." – Michelle Mahoney, King & Wood Mallesons "The first Legal Innovation & Tech Fest in Melbourne was a tremendous success! The sessions provided great coverage on a variety of cutting-edge legal technology topics. But what I enjoyed the most was the intimate nature of the event, which allowed me to meet a lot of great presenters and attendees who came from a variety of forward-thinking, innovative organizations. I met three people who implemented contract analytics systems that I'm currently evaluating and received priceless feedback on the vendors and the current state of technology." – Julian Tsisin, Google "The Legal Innovation & Tech Fest held in Melbourne, Australia was a great success. It was attended by almost 300 technology and legal professionals. The event brought together equal numbers of individuals from corporate law departments and those working in law firms. This unique balance led to more interesting discussions and diverse perspectives being brought to the table. The sessions were also outstanding— the innovation theme really raised the strategic level of the material and promoted new ways of thinking about the future of the legal industry and how changes in technology will impact it. We are looking forward to seeing a number of our Australian friends and colleagues at ILTACON 2016 in August. Due to the great feedback and ideas exchanged, we're happy that several of them have agreed to travel to the U.S. and share their insights with the global membership by speaking at the conference." – Rick Krzyminski, Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz Legal http://techfestconf.com/legal/aus/
