LITIGATION AND PRACTICE SUPPORT 22 WWW.ILTANET.ORG | ILTA WHITE PAPER I try to use a combination of following thought leaders, connecting on social media and reading the latest articles. I've found great communities within ILTA, LinkedIn and even Twier. I love reading articles in Peer to Peer, Litigation Support Today, LexisNexis Law360, the BowTieLaw blog and Above The Law. We live in a prey amazing time. Social media can be purpose-driven to find the professional movers and shakers online. There are all kinds of webinars, podcasts and blogs you can follow to stay current on the latest and greatest. In terms of people to follow on Twier, I would point you to: » @DavidLat » @BowTieLaw » @ChrisDaleOxford For some great legal humor, follow: » @LawyerThoughts » @CriminelleLaw Phil Weldon WilmerHale How Do You Stay In-the- Know? How Do You Stay In-the-Know? We asked members of ILTA's Litigation Support community what resources they use to stay in-the- know as a litigation support professional. Here are some responses. I like to use various blogs and newsleers, including PinHawk, Ralph Losey, Craig Ball, LegalTech News (which links to articles from other sources), klGates case summary and Kroll's case summaries. I also aend webinars by Exterra, kCura and ACEDS. Caroline Pollard Ballard Spahr LLP I've found the best way to stay aware of who and what is out there is by not saying "no" all the time. I reply –– even to most cold calls. If I already know about the product/workflow/services being offered, I'll respond with "thanks for your call/email, but we're all set at this time." More oen, if time permits, I'll engage in a conversation and or a demo to stay up to speed with the market. I won't be an expert, but I'll have a basic knowledge. My moos are: » Never say never » Try to be prepared for everything It's impossible to be prepared for everything, but it's good to have resources you can contact for a wide range of services, even if you've previously never (never say never) had a need for them. Webinars are another good resource. Some are basic, but there are good ones from time to time, so I aend when I can. David Hancock GrayRobinson, P.A.
