PEER TO PEER: THE QUARTERLY MAGA ZINE OF ILTA 86 What recent LexisNexis updates are most applicable to ILTA members? LexisNexis has made significant organizational changes that will be of interest to the ILTA community. Over the last several years we've consolidated all U.S. software businesses into a single division focused on software and technology. The division has established a Technology Center of Excellence on the NC State Centennial Campus, a public-private partnership seated in the heart of one of the largest academic engineering programs in the country. The LexisNexis managed technology services business provides outsourced infrastructure management for large law firms and litigation service bureaus that support large law firms. We provide secure litigation management infrastructure that scales up and down to easily meet the needs of legal professionals. In the case of hosted litigation solutions, we're focused on reducing the number of "data hops" and providing an end-to-end e-discovery solution. What can we expect from LexisNexis in the next year? The first thing ILTA members will notice is the tremendous influence the Technology Center of Excellence in Raleigh is having on our products and the future of our products. Being seated in the heart of an academic institution provides us access to cutting-edge research in design and analytics and, more important, the talent to develop world-class software. We have one of the largest concentrations of legal technology talent in the country — more than 400 technologists collaborating in a single office. We are laser-focused on solving critical problems that law firms and corporate law departments are experiencing. What is the one thing you wished I asked you? "What is our focus?" It is all about helping law firms and law departments drive better outcomes. While the details can vary from firm to firm and department to department, they usually center on increasing efficiency, increasing profit, driving growth, improving customer experience and the reduction of risk. We embrace continued feedback from the ILTA community on whether we are staying true to that focus. Spotlight on Strategic Relationships ILTA's Strategic Relationship Program recognizes the importance of key relationships and creates opportunities for meaningful dialogs to support educational programming, to provide member feedback that informs future product/ service development and to ensure ILTA's involvement in standard-setting initiatives. Pat Purdy, ILTA's Strategic Relationship Liaison for Lexis Nexis, recently spoke with Jonah Paransky, Vice President and Managing Director of Product Management for the LexisNexis Business of Law Software Solutions. Here they reflect on how LexisNexis continues to expand on and improve ILTA member services and benefits through our strategic relationship.
