o matter what the state of the
economy or a firm's budget,
training will remain a perennial
need. So long as there are new
programs, updates or technologies,
employees will always require help in getting up to
speed on the changes they're being asked to adopt.
Of course, when the training budget is small or
practically nonexistent, trainers have to get creative
to get the job done. Fortunately, there are many free
or cheap resources, tools and good ideas to make
training successful.
Recently, Carol Gerber, Director of Learning
and Professional Development for Moses & Singer
LLP, and Jeri Sires, Training and Special Projects
Coordinator at Hunter Maclean Exley & Dunn, P.C.,
led an ILTA "encore" webinar discussing how to
train well on even the leanest of budgets. A popular
session at the 2009 ILTA educational conference,
attendees were able to benefit from their expertise
without leaving the office.
