The paradox that "less is more," wherein greater value is delivered in a smaller space or through consumption of fewer resources, is intrinsic to the technology arena. While it's sometimes true that "good things come in small packages," anyone hoping for a big-screen TV won't be impressed by the small, Tiffany Blue Box you're toting — but I will love it! Like many, I want more bandwidth and a smaller computer; I'd like larger airplanes with smaller carbon footprints; give me a bigger glass of champagne with fewer calories; I dream of a larger closet filled with clothes of smaller sizes (to accommodate my shrinking waistline); I'd prefer a washing machine that has a larger capacity with fewer demands on energy; I want more time in the day and fewer things to worry about; yes … less is more, more or less. Our authors explore many of the dichotomies created by our "expanding while shrinking" world of technology. I am struck by the abundance of opinions, experiences and predictions provided by our contributors; and, as always, I thank them. We close this publication year in a big way! I wish everyone a safe, happy holiday season and a prosperous year ahead. ILTA will be here to help you face new challenges as we share knowledge in this magazine and the myriad forums for education and peer networking that ILTA provides. mor Fear less, hope mor e; love mor e, and all good things will be yours e; eat less, chew mor e; whine less, br .
