If you don't have a PIN policy, you have no security. If you do
have a PIN policy, the device should self-wipe after a certain
number of missed tries (varies by policy).
Also, if the phone connects to the Internet in any way (locked,
unlocked, wifi, etc.), then the wipe command can take effect. I
don't think an iPhone is nearly as attractive without any form of
networking enabled on it.

subject: What are some useful
mobile apps?
i have been asked to support the iPhone at my firm. My
question is for anyone who has attorneys currently using
the iPhone, what features do they find useful? any apps
that you have discovered that would benefit an attorney?
anything in general you would like to share or advise?

People around here get most excited about the Golf app that
tells you how far you are from the hole, how long your last hit
was, etc. If you are already using Exchange ActiveSync, there
really is not a lot of hassle in syncing. Just make sure they know
that you do not have the entire AppStore memorized. I've got
a guy who stops in a couple times a week for the past couple
months asking me if I have heard about any cool new apps.
Mostly amusing because of the Windows Mobile device in my
pocket and anti-Apple background on my computer :)
