TECH Product Announcements ADERANT announced Paperless Prebill, a new ADERANT Expert module that enables firms to more easily and efficiently manage the prebill process. Paperless Prebill provides an electronic method of distributing prebills for review, narrative editing, markup acceptance and approvals. It increases visibility into the status of prebill assignment and the dates associated with prebills distributed for review and markup, while reducing costs, improving billing cycles and increasing cash flow. Aizar announced the launch of LexText Redactor, the smart document redaction tool for legal professionals. LexText Redactor addresses the needs of lawyers and support staff and helps increase productivity by speeding-up the daily document drafting and redaction work. LexText Redactor automatically recognizes and highlights sensitive content such as names, dates and amounts in legal documents and swiftly guides the user through the redaction process. American LegalNet announced that eDockets now integrates with Autonomy iManage’s document management system, WorkSite. This integration provides law firms that use iManage WorkSite as their document management system the ability to store court-related documents in WorkSite and attach them to a docket or event in eDockets. It also allows court and agency forms that are retrieved from American LegalNet’s Forms WorkFlow product to be stored in WorkSite, since they are fillable Word and PDF documents. Biscom announced that it now integrates with SharePoint. With the integration of Biscom’s file transfer software and SharePoint, law firms can securely extend their SharePoint deployment to external users saving valuable billing and technical support hours. With this new integration capability, Biscom enables legal professionals to share and send documents with recipients directly from SharePoint and without the need to create and manage accounts for external users. Catalyst Repository Systems, Inc. announced the Preview Release of Catalyst Insight, its new, automated discovery platform. Full-text search engines have always been fast but their indexes get out of synch with the data. Many systems have to be shut down before they can be updated for user changes. In contrast, the Insight search engine is transactional. When a user changes a record and saves it, that record is immediately indexed and searchable. CompuLaw LLC announced their new CompuLaw Certification Program (CCP), a user certification program designed for firms that are seeking trained master legal calendaring users as part of their overall risk management strategy. CCP training sessions, carefully designed to educate on best practices in court calendaring, provide users with the tools to not only train colleagues on CompuLaw software, but also to increase quality control when tracking rules updates and deadlines. CQ Press announced launch of First Street, a groundbreaking online service consolidating congressional, government and lobbying data into the ultimate coalition-building database. Developed for lobbyists, law firms, associations and other groups working to affect policy, First Street draws on CQ Press’ unparalleled subject expertise to deliver unprecedented, authoritative and objective data on the players shaping the day’s most important issues. Credenza Software Inc. announced the release of a new update for Credenza. This new update includes a powerful universal search capability, optional timers, faster file associations, cloud backup and much more. Credenza is an innovative practice management tool that runs as part of Microsoft Outlook. It provides better organization for e-mail, appointments, tasks, documents, notes, research and phone calls around client matters, files or projects, all inside Outlook. It can also track the time spent on each activity, which in turn can be sent to the firm’s accounting system. 26 Peer to Peer DocAuto announced the release of Version 1.8 of its flagship product, WorkSpace Manager. Trusted by hundreds of firms worldwide, WorkSpace Manager is the industry-leading solution for implementing and maintaining matter-centric architectures in WorkSite. This release provides major design enhancements to the query editor interface, simplified dialogs and a new template manager. DocSolid announced the release of Airmail2 Enterprise Scan Capture for Law Firms. The cloud-based solution works with all makes and models of MFPs, digital copiers and scanners, with one-button simplicity. It enables easy and secure scanning to create and deliver OCR’d PDF files to a user’s inbox or a network folder or to capture images for document management systems like Autonomy iManage and Worldox. Elite, part of Thomson Reuters, announced that Enterprise Version 3.9 and WebView Version 5.4 are now available and feature enhancements designed to help legal and professional services firms increase usability and streamline their financial and practice management processes. Within the financial management modules, firms have more flexibility with larger capacity for user-defined field values, voucher ID and voucher invoice numbers to select from, as well as the ability to drill down into billing detail data via general ledger (GL) inquiry screens. Esquire Innovations, Inc. released a new Enhancement Pack (EP) of iRedline 7, the company’s document comparison software. iRedline 7 EP3 supports Microsoft Word 2007 and 2010. The new EP adds the ability to compare portions of text from a single document or multiple documents, further address and manage author and date information in tracked changes and easily combine all pages with revisions to a single PDF file. The EP also enhances the OpenText document management system integration. Guidance Software, Inc. announced a new forensic tool for the Apple iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod touch, giving digital investigators the ability to perform forensic analysis and e-discovery. Guidance Software has expanded the mobile device support in the latest version of EnCase Neutrino to help customers acquire critical data from these devices in a matter of minutes. Guidance Software’s EnCase Neutrino also supports acquisition on devices running Android 2.1 and 2.2. This includes popular Android models like the Motorola Droid series and the HTC Evo. ILS Technologies announced the introduction of its latest electronic discovery software called “Discover For Yourself”. Discover For Yourself represents ILS Technologies’ latest generation e-discovery platform that promotes efficient, cost-effective data reviews while ensuring accuracy and defensibility. The new product offers a viable option for the historically underserved market of legal professionals handling small cases, for which premiere technology has often been financially out of reach. IntApp, Inc. announced the availability of new application integration rule templates, expanding support for NetDocuments, an online document management service where you can organize and store all your organization’s documents in one secure location on the cloud. In collaboration with NetDocuments, IntApp has developed a variety of integration templates that allow law firms to connect NetDocuments with and share information among their existing software applications using IntApp Integration Builder. and Intelliteach announced the availability of a complimentary published report aggregating independent law firm user support and service desk statistics and metrics. The 20 page report, “User Support Guru Guide: Legal Helpdesk Metrics & Key Performance Indicators” (Guru Guide), provides unique benchmark data relating to the most supported legal applications as well as help desk staffing and service quality ratios pre and post software conversions, among others. IPRO Tech announced its early case assessment tool, IPRO Allegro, is live on client systems. This new product will join large scale processing tool IPRO eCapture and litigation repository IPRO Eclipse as part of IPRO’s end-to-end solution. IPRO Allegro is a feature-rich, software-based early case assessment tool that allows organizations to quickly identify items that do and do not need to move forward in the litigation process, prior to costly stages of eDiscovery processing and review.
