P E E R T O P E E R M A G A Z I N E · W I N T E R 2 0 2 5 5 Thinking ahead to January 15, 2027, when we can look back on 2026, I'd expect we could identify two or three overarching, collective themes. One of those larger themes present within legal tech and beyond will almost certainly be learning how to co-create and adapt to new realities. What are some of the ways legal entities and/or professionals can adapt as we transition into 2026's new technology-driven realities? Which community-generated topics and trends are quickly emerging as clear front-runners for 2026's top subject matter spots? A group of ILTAn volunteer-leaders gathered during 2025's final months to explore these questions and create ILTA's 2026 Programming Priorities. Top Four Legal Tech Topics in 2026 1. AI MATURITY 2. DATA SECURITY 3. HUMAN-CENTERED DEVELOPMENT 4. ORGANIZATIONAL EVOLUTION Although this Winter's Peer to Peer focuses on the technology- inspired governance evolution underway across legal sectors worldwide, you'll find articles speaking directly to one or more of the Programming Priorities listed above. While the future may always be a bit foggy, one thing is clear – ILTA's peer-powered volunteer community is well-positioned to provide the educational content, professional resources, and community support for legal technologists co-creating and adapting to ever-unfolding new realities.
