After a few years in the industry, Anna sought to deepen her involvement in ILTA, recognizing the community's invaluable role in her professional growth. This led to her participation in ILTA's DEIC, where she contributes to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members. From an early age, Anna was exposed to the challenges faced by individuals marginalized due to their differences. This early exposure ignited a passion for making people feel universally welcome, which has been a driving force throughout her career. Anna has consistently sought opportunities to address her own blind spots and share her insights, aiming to make ILTA spaces more inclusive and better understand the diverse needs of the community. Over the past 25 years, Anna's understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion has evolved through extensive professional and volunteer work. She has served the unmet accessibility needs of individuals who are blind or vision- impaired, and her career has focused on advocating for the legal rights of those facing language access barriers. Her dedication to ensuring Access to Justice has led to the development of technology solutions for individuals facing various accessibility challenges, including language barriers, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical and mental disabilities, and other factors such as literacy and neurodivergence. Anna believes that diversity, equity, and inclusion are not about being politically correct, but about meeting the community's basic needs while preserving human dignity. She emphasizes the importance of empathy in action, ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table, receives an invitation, and can access the door.
