D avid Morgan-Wilkins is an ediscovery specialist at Norton Rose Fulbright and has worked at the firm for nearly a decade. Recently, he co-authored the ILTA Active Learning Best Practices protocol, which provides a baseline for legal professionals using machine learning in document review in the UK. Within Norton Rose Fulbright, David has implemented technical innovations for machine translation and creating hearing bundles. He has also developed applications for converting and processing ediscovery load files, identifying duplicate emails, and compiling statement exhibits. David maintains lawyer know-how relating to machine learning and cutting-edge ediscovery practices as well as providing briefings on technical subjects such as statistical sampling. He also supports the development of other solutions, such as enabling lawyers to use generative AI to interrogate curated data sets. As part of a group of ediscovery professionals from diverse backgrounds within Norton Rose Fulbright's Litigation and Disputes team, David provides comprehensive technical training and ongoing mentoring to new colleagues. He is an enthusiastic participant in his firm's fundraising efforts for Save the Children UK and has performed pro bono work in the form of advice and representation in the Social Security Tribunal. David is a regular panelist at ILTA events in the UK and recently hosted a global webinar for ILTA members, speaking about topics including machine learning in ediscovery and the Active Learning Protocol. He finds ILTA's Litigation Special Interest Group a valuable forum for sharing experiences and discussing new technologies.
