A once adorable baby who cooed and giggled as they played in one spot transforms, borrowing from an ILTA colleague, into a "stealthy ninja" capable of mass destruction when left unwatched for mere seconds. (Cue internal Morgan Freeman narration of a nature documentary.) The young human is now mobile and capable of carrying out unimaginable feats, silently hacking the best babyproofing home safety systems, gathering supplies, and redecorating their family's home before escaping into the wilds of suburbia. It doesn't take a great deal of imaginative daydreaming to understand the analogy here. In many ways, today's legal tech professionals function as caretakers of a technology transitioning from its infancy to toddler developmental stage. Many ILTAns are the individuals and solution providers tasked with finding and implementing the guardrails and safety measures to protect their firms, corporations, and organizations while also trying to stay one step ahead of the constantly changing legal landscape. Gone are the days of unlocked cabinet doors and breakable decor, now it's time to toddler-proof the proverbial house! ILTA's 2025 Spring Issue of Peer to Peer, Practical AI for Legal Technologists: Real-World Applications and Insights, offers a bountiful trove of treasure-filled content that addresses several emerging legal tech trends. Inside, you'll find GenAI-specific how-to guides, professional growth stories and advice, as well as a special sneak peek at the incredible learning and networking opportunities in store for ILTA EVOLVE 2025 conference attendees. Whether you are interested in increasing your firm's efficiency, streamlining workflows, using legal-specific virtual assistance to consolidate labor-intensive tasks, or staying up to date on the latest security protocols and international policies for AI governance, this issue of Peer to Peer holds practical guidance to help you pursue those goals.
