hatGPT's launch in November
2022 marked a significant
milestone, as it made generative
AI (GenAI)-powered technology
accessible to virtually everyone
with a device capable of
an internet connection. As GenAI adoption
increased at unprecedented rates, technologists
from professional sectors worldwide began
exploring and creating solutions to answer
needs going with its rapidly rising adoption
rate. Legal technologists and those within
ILTA's ecosystem served as some of the first
professional responders to this unique global
demand for GenAI-powered tech solutions.

In her Letter from the CEO for this issue of Peer
to Peer, Joy Heath Rush provided a powerful
analogy, likening a two-and-a-half-year-old
ChatGPT to "a precocious toddler." It took mere
moments before I was gifted with a nuanced
perspective on the source, or at least a part,
of the sense of communal exhaustion that
many legal tech professionals are sensing.
