28 or helping to avoid inadvertently offensive language or assumptions. Many companies have global offices, each with their customs and diction. Firms may attempt to create culturally appropriate communications, but efforts can be inconsistent and sometimes miss the mark. Simple AI prompts such as "make this communication appropriate for the London, UK office" make it easy to create communications that resonate with target audiences while acknowledging regional differences. ACCESSIBILITY AI can ensure the language is clear and accessible to a broader audience, including people with varying literacy levels or those for whom English is a second language. Employ action prompt verbs like simplify or shorten to verbiage that you may think takes more words than needed. Ask AI to provide bullet points or tables where information can be delivered in an easily consumable manner. You may communicate with someone for whom English is not their first language, and AI can be an excellent interpreter. Preface your text with a suggested persona for reading the information. Example: "Check the following message for language challenges as though it was being read by someone whose first language is not English." Regardless of our knowledge or understanding of diversity, we can all benefit from incorporating AI tools to improve clarity, sensitivity, and respectfulness in our daily communications. As a bonus, we model inclusive language, ensure cultural sensitivity, and increase communication accessibility. We should utilize any tool that empowers us to become better, more empathetic communicators to the fullest extent. Who knew AI could help us be more conscientious global citizens?
