ILTA'S 2024 DE+I CLIMATE SURVEY REPORT ILTANET.ORG/DEI 7 Once again, ILTA engaged Dr. Mike Allen from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to analyze the data. Similar to the survey published in 2021, when analyzing the data, we found some reassuring results in the 152 responses submitted. We will begin by discussing the quantitative data. When asked whether the participant believes that ILTA is an organization with diverse membership, the mean response was 1.96 (on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 = strongly agree and 5 = strongly disagree). Likewise, when asked if the participant felt included as an ILTA participant and welcome among ILTA colleagues, the mean response was 1.6. So, overall, the responses indicate positive feeling by members toward ILTA in respect to diversity of membership and inclusivity and welcoming. Another question provided a detailed list of twenty- two adjectives representing ILTA. The participants were asked to score the adjectives on a scale of 1 (strongly agree) to 5 (strongly disagree). The overall mean was 18 on a 10 to 50 scale. Essentially, if one examines that average item score, the 1.8 is below the midpoint of 3.00 (on a scale of 1 to 5), indicating a positive view of the organization based on the participants adjective associations. If treated as a single scale, the overall reliability is very high. Twelve questions were asked regarding feelings about the direct experience people have had with ILTA. We are happy to report that generally speaking, the responses indicated a positive view of ILTA based on direct experience. The overall mean was 41.2 on a 22 to 110 scale. Essentially, if one examines that average item score, the 1.87 is below the midpoint of 3.00 (on a scale of 1 to 5 (where 1 = strongly agreed), indicating a positive view of the organization based on direct experience. The mean is an average based on a distribution of scores. It is entirely possible is the existence of some subgroups that do not share that general positive view of ILTA. However, when Strongly Agree Agree Neutral Disagree Strongly Disagree 33% 45% 14% 7% 1% ILTA is an organization with diverse membership. Strongly Agree Agree Neutral Disagree Strongly Disagree 48% 41% 8% 1% 1% I feel welcome and included as an ILTA participant.
